In a beautiful tropical house setting comes delicious sunsets and smooth vibes. That’s a weird way to put it, but you get the idea. ‘Sunset Canal’ features an energetic tropical beat that gives its own twist on House, and marks the first single to feature a vocalist and proper lyrics. Dive in as we explore orange-violet skies and the satisfaction of love and romance under a serene Spanish sunset.

Creator Commentary

““Sunset Canal” is my first dive into the Tropical House scene featuring my signature sounds and Carys Selvey’s atmospheric vocals. The song explores the themes of passion and love in remote settings. Particularly in this case, old Spanish towns at dusk. Even though the lyrics were directed towards the world I had crafted for myself, I wanted to write this in a way loving partners could relate and sing to each other.”

    “Mists in Spain” was a piece I’ve digitally painted where I wanted to create that Spanish coastal vibe for the song. At the time, I was fascinated with Ibiza, Spain, with the old town architect, the stone roads, and the coastal views of the Atlantic ocean. I thought it was pretty interesting environment and it was definitely a place I wanted to go travel someday. So for “Sunset Canal”, I was inspired to include the Ibiza setting for both the song itself and the paintings.

    As with many of my digital paintings back in the day, I had used Photoshop and I even took real life photo references for both my character and the small towns of Ibiza. Although if I seem to remember correctly, it was drawing the clothes on top of my character being the most challenging part of the painting and not the environment surrounding him.

    The main cover art had also taken inspiration from photos I’ve found online and I did my best to recapture a good portion of the old European structural aesthetics.
