“Never Too Late” is the lead single for a short animated film I’ve made called “The Smash Ultimatum”. Feel free to visit my hobby channel if you wish to see the fan film for yourself. The song touches on the 2010’s nostalgic side of Pop/R&B, of course with it’s own Mariotravel209 taste.

Lyrics

Tell me why, Tell me
Tell me why, Tell me
You got that fire
I can see it through your eyes
I can feel the heat from you
So tell me why
I got only you to fantasize
So sweet, now I need you

Watch me fly, fly to you
Tell me why I love you so
You’re all I’m into
Just thought that you should know (Tell me why)
I’m the one you need
Tell me why
Give me a shot
Yeah Yeah

Ooo I want you baby
Don’t be afraid
You might be away
But I know It’s never too late
I know It’s never too late

You got that something
Something I’ve never see before
I’m watching all my dreams come true
and there is nothing
That could make me want you more
It’s “picture-perfect”, me and you

Watch me fly, fly to you (watch me baby)
Tell me why I love you so (Tell me why)
You’re all I’m into (All I’m Into)
Just thought that you should know (You gotta know that)

I’m the one you need
Tell me why
Give me a shot
Yeah Yeah

Ooo I want you baby
Don’t be afraid
You might be away (Oh no)
But I know It’s never too late (no no)
I know It’s never too late
Ooo whoa ooo
Noo (Tell me why)
It’s never too late, never too late…

Creator Commentary

“For some of the OGs out there, y’all know why this song is a thing. I wanted to produce a track for a short film I was working on for my hobby channel and I remember vividly I was in my JoJo phase. It’s funny when I put it that way, but it was true. I never felt so nostalgic when listening to some of her music for the first time and I was instantly hooked on the idea of producing a JoJo-like track for The Smash Ultimatum.

It feels weird when looking at it from surface value, but I felt it was appropriate for the film since 2010 was a specific era that both the film and my song really emphasize on. Looking at it now, I could say I wish I had polished some of the aspects of the song, but…

I wish I spent more time polishing it.

Of course for this song, I got to work with Jessica and I was appreciative to how patient she was with me during the production of this song. I was running all over the place trying to get this song made, pulling my hair out, and all. Despite all that, she stayed with me the entire way, so Jessica, if you’re reading this. Thank you so much! This is me three years later, so that’s how you know this was real.😏 “
